Show me another»Are original American mobs like the so called 'Kosher Nostra' still active ?
I know that the original 'American' crime syndicates were the American Mafia ( Italian-Americans ), Irish Mob ( Irish-Americans ), Kosher Mafia ( Jewish-Americans ), Dixie Mafia ( American Southerners, if you can classify them as one group ) and Afro-American organized crime syndicates. You can also see the 'Mexican Mafia' as a pure 'American' crime gang because the Chicano people have been part of the USA's population ( and thus history ) for centuries, but this mob was established later.
More recently other Asian, Caribbean, Latin, Soviet and Mediterranean crime syndicates have arrived, but I don't consider them to be 'American'.
I know that the Italian Americans and the Afro-Americans are still very active. The Irish Mob and the Dixie Mafia's power has declined a bit, but both seem to be still pretty active.
How about the Jewish-American Mafia ? I know that the Israeli Mafia once was active in the USA, but they're largely Mizrahi Jewish and that the Russian Mafia has a lot of members of Khazar Jewish descent.
But does the original Jewish-American Mafia still exist ?

The kosher nostra and other jewish - american gangs declined after World war 2.
Although there are records of jewish criminals still highly active in L.A and some of the East cost as late as the 60s and early 70's so they are most likely still around. Not 100% sure though.
They where hated in the jewish community, where as italian and black gangs where more accepted in theres, so they thrived.
The Dixie mafia is also still around, thats a fact. And The irish Mob are still around. I'm sure of that. fact.

- Jews got out of the mob business because it looked awful for the Jewish community. Most Jewish organized crime is going to be Russian Jew in origin.
- IMO, the Jewish mob renamed itself as Hollywood, while the Irish mob renamed itself as the New York City Police Department.
- Kosher Nostra? I've never heard of that one... I have heard of la Cosa Nostra, but maybe I just don't know enough about mobsters...
