Michael D. Scott, a Mansfield realtor who is facing mortgage fraud charges in U.S. District Court in Boston, has surrendered his real estate broker license to the Board of Registration of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons.
Scott agreed to surrender any and all licenses issued by the board as well as his right to renew any licenses, the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure said in a news release. He also agreed to never apply to the board for licensure of any kind. Scott must transfer any and all funds under his possession, custody or control in his capacity as a real estate broker to a Boston area law firm and notify by certified mail all parties he represents as a broker that he has surrendered his license and can no longer represent the party as a licensed broker, the division said.
Scott must also transition all pending real estate matters to other licensed brokers no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow.
Scott is awaiting trial on federal mortgage fraud charges relating to foreclosed properties in Dorchester and Roxbury.
