...Before the most recent DUI arrest, Currie ruled Lindemann could start his prison term April 1 after his pregnant wife had given birth. After the alleged DUI incident, Lindemann, found at home, refused to take a Breathalyzer and denied driving the car, court testimony showed.
Lindemann, a developer and real estate flipper who also sold cars, was successfully sued three times by people who claimed he did not pay money he owed them from business deals before his conviction on federal charges. Testimony in January also showed Lindemann had asked federal authorities after his sentencing, but before his term was set to start, for permission to take a trip to Las Vegas. Federal law enforcement officials, in court, called that request "a red flag."
The federal prison at Bennettsville, west of Myrtle Beach, is medium security, with a minimum security work camp. Federal prisoners sometimes serve less time than actual sentencing as credits can be accrued for good behavior and other mitigating factors. Lindemann's target release date, according to the Bureau of Prison Web site, is April 29, 2013.
