I know it is illegal and people have been prosecuted, but I want toknow how to report someone. There is a woman in my city who has a business doing nothing but this and is quite the scammer.

    Just contact your local police department at their non-emergency number. I’m sure they’d be happy to come out and get the info from you and then pursue shutting her down. They’ll then investigate and she might even face federal charges if the goods have been sold across state or international boundaries.

    Call your state police agency. ( Not the Highway patrol, but for instance, California has the CBI, Florida has FDLE, South Carolina has SLED ) If you need to, call your local Sheriff’s Department, and they can give you the number. Most State Law Enforcement agencies have a division set up just to combat counterfeiting.

    There are many agencies you can contact
    #1) The police
    #2) US Customs because it is being shipped in from out of the country probably bypassing customs which is illegal
    #3) Corporate security for the company that she is trying to sell (GUCCI, or COACH, etc) they will send an investigator to the store. You can find the address on the companies website and they have an area to report knock-off as authentic merchandise being sold.
    #4) Contact the prosecutor fraud division in your city or town
    However, if the merchant is stating that her merchandise is a replica then she can sell it legally. It is only illegal if she makes a claim that her stuff is authentic.
