Woman’s Eviction Moving Ahead in Blue Hill

Woman’s Eviction Moving Ahead in Blue Hill:

'via Blog this'BLUE HILL — The eviction of a woman from her Mill Pond Road residence, which is now a town-owned property, is proceeding, town officials say.
Meanwhile, at least one neighbor has concerns with the property’s appearance and how long the eviction process is going to take.
Abutting property owner Ron Cote of Blue Hill had asked the Board of Selectmen during a meeting earlier this month if the town could make improvements to the property such as mowing the lawn.
“That’s the genesis of my request, to have the town cease to be a slumlord,” Cote said.
“If she’s going to be there forever, at least fix it up,” Cote said. If no one wants to deal with the property, it becomes my problem for the rest of my time here, he said.
Selectman John Bannister replied, “There have been many agencies who have been pushed kicking and screaming to get involved with this.”
“We are concerned as you are about moving forward,” added Selectman Jim Schatz.
