Todays Conundrum For The Politically Disinclined

A month ago I didn't even know what a Republican was, but I was trapped in a car with one all the way to Bamboozle. She was spouting such bullshit out of her mouth about the death penalty I thought my head was going to explode. She's from Georgia, but that's no excuse. They have libraries in GA and she has her very own computer. She uses as an expensive coupon generator, mainly, by liking anything and everything on Facebook, as long as it costs money. I couldn't open my page without her little face popping up a hundred times like my very own tiny consumer conscience. She even liked Walmart, despite working there and not liking that of late do to understaffing and over-blaming issues. Also, "the Puerto Ricans" are some kind of problem because she's convinced they are talking about her. I gave her "Learn Spanish" on a CD. It came with a workbook but she insisted she could learn entirely by the CD loaded into her iPod. As far as I know she still doesn't have a clue what's up at her job.

There I was trapped in a car for several hours with somebody I thought I knew, and she was saying the craziest things. She said things which made no sense for someone in her situation to be saying! When I tried to get some sort of rationale to what was behind her "I have a right to my opinion" (but apparently I have no right to ask why she thinks what she thinks, just like in Bible Study) all she would say was, "I'm a Republican," like that meant a thing to me.

My entire life I've known nothing but lies and mudslinging from politicians so I've learned to tune them out. I called myself a humanist and when it came time to vote I based my choice on who seemed to have the most common sense and the best plan for our country. Democrat or Republican did not factor into it at all.

Because I couldn't argue that since I didn't know what she was talking about I've devoted every spare minute of my time researching politics for the past month and I've come to this conclusion. Republicans are fucking nuts. They don't want with best for everyone, or for any people at all! They are miserly, greedy, selfish, pushy, divisive, deluded, insidious, and sneaky. Also liars, most of the time! Usually they are Christian and conservative and think liberals are hippies. My friend isn't a practicing Christian because she did a few things which would be considered sinful, though she is self righteous and never "sins" now. I strongly suspect if she got a chance to sin, she would.

Todays lesson included reading Michael Moore's "Here Comes Trouble," watching "Radio Bikini" and then watching, "Blood In The Face."

"Blood In The Face" explains how racists can convert others to racism, and how happy they are with the invention of the VCR.

Instead of being pushy and saying, "You gotta watch this!" you should ask advice, say, "What do you think of this video," according to the racists.

First of all, why can't they just stay in their own group and stop trying to convert people to being violent haters?

Then I realized the problem with the peaceful people is that they don't want to be pushy. They want everyone to be able to live free and do their own thing and to get along. They aren't organized and they don't hold meetings, beyond maybe "The Rainbow Gathering." They have no plan to convert others into a peaceful worldview because it seems like a common sense thing everybody would want.

The "hippies" or whatever they are are going to have to form a "Love Group" to counteract the hate groups. Hate groups promote fear, so Love groups have to promote the opposite.

Instead of imagine the horror of a Muslim in your neighborhood, imagine what you can learn from someone who is of a different culture?

Both Churches and other hate groups have learned to reach out to the misfits, the needy and broken and forsaken to make their numbers grow. Gangs do this same exact thing.

Meanwhile, while Democrats work behind the scenes to create social programs to help the rejected, the disenfranchised and the poverty stricken, they are doing nothing to stem the misplaced anger these groups feel.

Someone (some Jesus-like hippie) needs to reach out to the broken and point them on the path to love and peace. They need a group and a safe haven and to feel love and a sense of community. There's not enough solidarity amongst the think-for-yourselfers. We just encourage people to think for themselves and feel sure they will see the light, yet that doesn't happen. Most people want to be told what to do.

Honestly, when everything started going downhill for me (story for another day), I also wanted to be told what to do but what I was told was:

You can't change the world.
This is how things are.
Good ole boys will win
Why are you wasting your energy?

I didn't want to hear any of that. I wanted to fight for my rights and stand up for myself. Not one person in my group of friends or in my family encouraged me. I hit a wall of apathy. Most people don't even know what their rights are.

What are they teaching kids in school that so many adults are so shallow and ignorant? Not only ignorant but willfully so! PROUDLY so! My Republican friend says, "I'm done with school!" Since when is learning a bad thing?

The peace-seekers need to start recruiting the kids who would normally be in gangs or in church and make them feel wanted, important, and a part of something. Everybody likes to feel like they have a purpose.

The churches use Jesus as a lure, and the haters use...guns? Hitler? Both tell members that they are better than everyone else. This is where liberals hit the wall, because everyone being equal doesn't cut it with the already insecure. It's not half as good as being better!

It's a whatayacallit...one of those problems with no answer. Conundrum?

...and for some rational commentary:
  •  totally believe those words. We are a Christian country, not a Judeo-Christian or secular one... And our beliefs are undergoing manipulation by the authority figures in Washington.
You sound like one phenomenal patriot. (:
  • We are NOT a Christian country.
  • I don't care what they believe in it's their right. I only need to know if they will stand bold and brave against the enemies of the Anglo-Saxon, Germanic and Celtic people whose forefathers founded America so that they could worship openly Jesus Christ and the Father. My forefathers build a society in order to secure a future for their posterity and it's been undermined for over two generations and must eventually be confronted and squashed. "Protect us by thy might; Great God, our King".

Doomsday clock inches world closer to destruction: How close have we come to midnight? | News | guardian.co.uk:

'via Blog this'Allison Macfarlane, chair, BAS Science and Security Board, says:
The global community may be near a point of no return in efforts to prevent catastrophe from changes in Earth's atmosphere. The International Energy Agency projects that, unless societies begin building alternatives to carbon-emitting energy technologies over the next five years, the world is doomed to a warmer climate, harsher weather, droughts, famine, water scarcity, rising sea levels, loss of island nations, and increasing ocean acidification
The furthest the clock has been from midnight was in 1991, when the cold war was declared officially over. It swung back from 10 minutes to 17, after the strategic arms reduction treaty reduced the number of strategic nuclear weapons from the United States and Russia.
The data is below. What can you do with it?

Data summary

Doomsday clock over time

Year
Minutes to midnight
Reason given by Bulletin of Atomic Scientists
19477As the Bulletin evolves from a newsletter into a magazine, the Clock appears on the cover for the first time. It symbolizes the urgency of the nuclear dangers
19493The Soviet Union denies it, but in the fall, President Harry Truman tells the American public that the Soviets tested their first nuclear device, officially starting the arms race.
19532After much debate, the United States decides to pursue the hydrogen bomb, a weapon far more powerful than any atomic bomb.
19607Political actions belie the tough talk of "massive retaliation." For the first time, the United States and Soviet Union appear eager to avoid direct confrontation
196312After a decade of almost non-stop nuclear tests, the United States and Soviet Union sign the Partial Test Ban Treaty, which ends all atmospheric nuclear testing.
19687Regional wars rage. U.S. involvement in Vietnam intensifies, India and Pakistan battle in 1965, and Israel and its Arab neighbors renew hostilities in 1967. Worse yet, France and China develop nuclear weapons to assert themselves as global players.
196910Nearly all of the world's nations come together to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The deal is simple--the nuclear weapon states vow to help the treaty's non-nuclear weapon signatories develop nuclear power if they promise to forego producing nuclear weapons.
197212The United States and Soviet Union attempt to curb the race for nuclear superiority by signing the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT) and the Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) Treaty.
19749South Asia gets the Bomb, as India tests its first nuclear device. And any gains in previous arms control agreements seem like a mirage.
19807Thirty-five years after the start of the nuclear age and after some promising disarmament gains, the United States and the Soviet Union still view nuclear weapons as an integral component of their national security.
19814The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan hardens the U.S. nuclear posture. Before he leaves office, President Jimmy Carter pulls the United States from the Olympics Games in Moscow and considers ways in which the United States could win a nuclear war.
19843U.S.-Soviet relations reach their iciest point in decades. "Every channel of communications has been constricted or shut down; every form of contact has been attenuated or cut off.
19886The United States and Soviet Union sign the historic Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, the first agreement to actually ban a whole category of nuclear weapons.
199010In late 1989, the Berlin Wall falls, symbolically ending the Cold War. "Forty-four years after Winston Churchill's 'Iron Curtain' speech, the myth of monolithic communism has been shattered for all to see."
199117With the Cold War officially over, the United States and Russia begin making deep cuts to their nuclear arsenals.
199514Hopes for a large post-Cold War peace dividend and a renouncing of nuclear weapons fade.
19989India and Pakistan stage nuclear weapons tests only three weeks apart. "The tests are a symptom of the failure of the international community to fully commit itself to control the spread of nuclear weapons – and to work toward substantial reductions in the numbers of these weapons."
20027Concerns regarding a nuclear terrorist attack underscore the enormous amount of unsecured–and sometimes unaccounted for–weapon-grade nuclear materials located throughout the world.
20075The world stands at the brink of a second nuclear age. The United States and Russia remain ready to stage a nuclear attack within minutes, North Korea conducts a nuclear test, and many in the international community worry that Iran plans to acquire the Bomb.
20106Talks between Washington and Moscow for a follow-on agreement to the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty are nearly complete, and more negotiations for further reductions in the U.S. and Russian nuclear arsenal are already planned.
20125"The challenges to rid the world of nuclear weapons, harness nuclear power, and meet the nearly inexorable climate disruptions from global warming are complex and interconnected. In the face of such complex problems, it is difficult to see where the capacity lies to address these challenges.

(Due Process doesn't exist for Americans, either. The problem is, they don't know it until they have a legal problem, but Americans have also been convinced that if you get in trouble you deserve it and if you rock the boat, you're asking for it. Many will blame themselves when they are exploited.)

White Aryan Resistance (WAR)

The Feds Are Circling Around White-Supremacist Godfather Tom Metzger | Crooks and Liars:

You may remember those arrests back in 2009 of three leading white supremacists — Robert Joos, and Dennis and Daniel Mahon — for the 2004 bombing of the racial-diversity office of Scottsdale, Arizona, that seriously injured the office's director and inflicted wounds on two other people. Even though the trail had seemingly gone cold, dogged investigators finally ran these domestic terrorists to ground.
Now it appears that the investigators' relentlessness is about to bring down one of the nation's most prominent white supremacists, according to the SPLC's Bill Morlin:
Tom Metzger — a wily, iconic racist ideologue who has for years espoused “lone-wolf” terrorism — could soon find himself facing criminal charges filed by the federal government he’s excoriated for decades.
Federal investigators, fresh off a related mail-bombing conviction in Arizona, may be pressing for what could develop into a major Justice Department criminal case against “Terrible Tommy” Metzger, as he likes to call himself. Court records filed in three states show the investigators strongly suspect Metzger provided the Arizona bomber with explosive-making instructions, knowing they would be used in the commission of a crime of violence.
At 74, Metzger, who now lives in Warsaw, Ind., has “celebrity status” as the founder of White Aryan Resistance (WAR), court documents say, and is a dean of white supremacists. He’s the last vestige of a generation of revolutionary racist leaders in the United States that included the late Richard G. Butler of Aryan Nations and the late Robert Miles, a one-time Michigan Klan leader and convicted bomber. While those two and many other racist leaders were charged in various criminal cases over the past three decades, Metzger has managed to avoid any serious criminal charges in his 40-plus years of activism.
That may be about to change.
The documents Morlin has dug up make clear that the feds are poised to file indictments against Metzger in short order — because what's become apparent through their investigation is that the Scottsdale bombers were acting at Metzger's behest.
It's a great piece of reporting, so be sure to read it all. I particularly noted this tidbit:
On May 22, 2008, after finding partial DNA profiles on some of the Scottsdale bomb components, ATF agents with a court warrant swabbed the mouths of the Mahon brothers to see if they could obtain a match. Ultimately, they couldn’t make the match, but their visit raised alarms. Two days later, testimony at the later Mahon trial would reveal, Dennis Mahon called his mentor, Metzger.
“I won’t betray you, Tom,” Mahon said over the tapped phone.
“I didn’t think you would,” Metzger replied
Metzger, as Morlin explains, has a long and deep lineage in the white-supremacist movement, and a remarkably broad influence: In many regards, the Minuteman movement of 2005-2010 wasMetzger's brainchild. It was Metzger, after all, who in 1978 came up with idea (reportedly inspired by Robert DePugh's radical-right 1960s militia organization that called itself the Minutemen) of a vigilante border watch as part of David Duke's Klan organization, and the first Klan Border Watch soon followed.
Here in the Northwest, Metzger is widely remembered as the neo-Nazi godfather who directed skinheads to assault blacks, leading to the beating death of a Nigerian exchange student named Mulugeta Seraw in Portland in 1988. That wound up putting Metzger out of business for a long while. But like all good zombie haters, he has never completely gone away.
A few years back he finally left southern California, where he had been a resident plague for years, and returned to his hometown of Warsaw, Indiana. He was most recently spotted running for Congress in Indiana in 2010.
Metzger's lifelong project has been to find ways to mainstream white supremacy. He may find that much harder to achieve soon.

trying to mainstream white supremacy, seeing as the GOP has already successfully completed that task.

Also, FOX news and the piece of excrement, Limbaugh, have already spread that message to more people than Metzger ever hoped.

Robert E. Miles - racist leader for the klan

Robert E. Miles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

'via Blog this'

He was so good at recruitment because he was an insurance salesman. He was excellent a selling fear.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Robert E. "Pastor Bob " Miles (January 28, 1925 – August 16, 1992) was a White Supremacist leader from Michigan.
A major "dualist" religious leader, Miles allied himself with various groups that constituted the racist and anti-Semiticpolitical-religious movement known as Christian Identity, including Aryan Nations. According to Miles, Earth was the site of a battle between a true God and a false God, with Jews acting as agents of the false God against the true "chosen people," white Aryans. [Barkun, 1994]. According to Barkun, "Despite the idiosyncrasies of his theology, the avuncular Miles functioned as a kind of elder statesman of the racial movement."
In 1971, Miles, then the grand dragon of the Michigan Ku Klux Klan, was arrested for conspiring to bomb school buses in an attempt to stop the integration of public schools in Michigan. He was later convicted and served his sentence.[1]
Following the 1979 "Greensboro Massacre" of anti-klan activists in 1979, "a number of previously antagonistic White Supremacist groups, including the Posse Comitatus and various Neo-Nazi and Klan factions, began having discussions about how they could formulate a common ideology. These different groups also conducted joint activities and even began establishing informal means of communication including computer bulletin boards and cable TV programs. Many of these groups embraced Christian Identity. Gradually, a White racist alliance emerged. Centers of this movement included the Michigan farm of pastor and former Klan leader Robert E. Miles, as well as the Aryan Nationscompound in Hayden Lake, Idaho, the site of Identity PastorRichard Butler's Church of Jesus Christ Christian." [Berlet & Lyons, 2000]. In the 1980s, Miles endorsed the "Northwest Imperative", an attempt to establish a separate white state in the Pacific Northwest. Coupled with his increasingly anti-US government position, he was referred to as a "klanarchist". [Kaza, 1987]
