Pastors are thieves and robbers

Pastors are thieves and robbers:

'via Blog this'

By Femi Aribisala
THE bus was going from Lagos to Benin and it was waylaid by highway robbers. They got on the bus brandishing automatic weapons. “This is a stick up,” declared the leader of the gang in a menacing tone designed for maximum effect. “Is there anybody here who has been paying his tithes? If you have been paying your tithes raise your hand.”
A few passengers raised their hands sheepishly. He told those who did to move to one side. Then he declared: “Those of you who have not been paying your tithes are thieves and robbers. You have been robbing God. Therefore, we are going to rob you.” The robbers then carted away the money and other valuables of those passengers who had not been paying their tithes.
Forgers of lies
You might not have heard this story before. But, in all probability, you might have heard a similar version of it. Different versions are common in the churches. Those who tell it insist it really happened. But every time you hear such stories know for a fact they are fiction. They are no more than the figments of the imagination of money-grubbing pastors.
You need to know that we pastors specialise in telling lies in order to “encourage” people to come to our church, stay in our church, and give us more and more money. That is why, as in the “parable” above, we even go as far as to use a thief to preach our own gospel. But only a thief would employ a thief to teach the way of righteousness.
Jesus warns believers to be wary of thieves and robbers. He says: “I am the gate for the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.” (John 10:7-8). Who precisely are the thieves and robbers of whom Jesus speaks? Is he talking about men who mug us in the streets? Is he talking about highway robbers who snatch our cars? Is he talking about those fraudulent “yahoo thieves” who rob us blind with a keystroke of the computer on the internet? Or is he talking about those who break into our houses in the dead of night?
Listen and understand. The thieves and robbers that are of primary concern to Jesus are the pastors of our churches. Jesus’ message is that pastors and other so-called “men of God” are thieves and robbers. According to him, we pastors have turned our churches into dens of thieves.
Jesus says: “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” (Mark 11:17).
Dismissed
In the Old Testament, when God speaks of pastors, it is in condemnation. He declares: “Woe to the pastors who feed themselves instead of their flocks. Shouldn’t pastors feed the sheep? You eat the best food and wear the finest clothes, but you let your flocks starve.” (Ezekiel 34:2-3).
How does God intend to remedy this situation? Solomon says we should be wary of a situation where God is said to lead his people through more than ONE PASTOR: “The words of the wise are like prodding goads, and firmly fixed in the mind like nails are the collected sayings which are given as proceeding from ONE PASTOR. But about going further than the words given by ONE PASTOR, my son, be warned.” (Ecclesiastes 12:11-12).
Accordingly, God proclaims the summary dismissal of all pastors to be replaced by one solitary true and faithful Pastor. He says: “I will establish ONE PASTOR over them, and he shall feed them—My servant David. He shall feed them and be their pastor.
And I, the LORD, will be their God.” (Ezekiel 34:23-24). He repeats this again: “David My servant shall be king over them, and they shall all have ONE PASTOR.” (Ezekiel 37:24).
That one true pastor is none other than Jesus. Jesus says: “I am the good pastor; and I know my sheep, and am known by my own. As the Father knows me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear my voice; and there will be one flock and ONE PASTOR.” (John 10:14-16).
This means those of us still parading ourselves as pastors today are, without exception, impostors and frauds. There is only ONE PASTOR in the church of God and it is Jesus.
David says men gave gifts to the Lord: “When you ascended on high, you led captives in your train; you RECEIVED gifts from men. (Psalm 68:18). But Paul changes this to say men received gifts from the Lord: “When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and GAVE gifts to men.’”
(Ephesians 4:8). He then uses this deliberate distortion as the basis for creating the unauthorised post of pastors in churches. (Ephesians 4:11). Jesus says: “He who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.” (John 10:1).
Evangelical  rogues
A thief broke into a man’s house and held him at gunpoint. After collecting as much of his valuables as he could, he asked the house-owner a question on his departure: “Have you given your life to Christ?” The miserable house-owner replied in the negative.
“I don’t believe in God,” he said. The armed robber became concerned about the man’s salvation. So he sat back down and decided to have an extensive chat with him. For the next one hour, he preached to him as persuasively as he could, “the gospel of salvation.” Then he left with the man’s belongings.
Do you think the house-owner became a Christian? If he did, what kind of Christian do you suppose he became? Think this through with me. What kind of righteousness can one expect to learn from a thief? Thus, Hosea says: “The priests are like a gang of robbers who wait in ambush for a man.
Even on the road to the holy place at Shechem they commit murder. And they do all this evil deliberately!” (Hosea 6:9). Today, there are even gangs of Catholic priests raping young boys.
The pastor was fed up. He had watched with dismay the brazen manner in which the senior area-pastor converted church funds to his personal use. Finally, he confronted him and told him, in no uncertain terms, that he would no longer countersign any cheques with him.
The area-pastor responded in a most unusual manner. He scheduled a meeting of all pastors and church-workers under him. Then he pointedly challenged the pastor to repeat publicly what he had dared to say to him in private.
However, the junior pastor refused to be intimidated. In the presence of everyone, he detailed chapter-and-verse the area-pastor’s expropriation of church funds. He revealed, in particular, his diversion of $30,000 to his daughter’s wedding in the United States. As a result, he insisted again, he would no longer countersign any cheques with him.
The other church-members present were aghast. “What’s going on?” they demanded. “What kind of church is this?” The area pastor was completely taken off-guard. This was not what he intended. He quickly decided on a change of strategy. He begged the people at the meeting to pray for him. “I am only a man,” he pleaded.
Isaiah says: “They are as greedy as dogs, never satisfied; they are stupid pastors who only look after their own interest, each trying to get as much as he can for himself from every possible source.” (Isaiah 56:11).

The Apostle and later Apostle of Christ is not intrested in material wealth of this world. Some of the Apostles were going and come to a begger who was expecting money from them. I remember their reply saying....... Gold nor Silver we do not have, but, what we have is the name of Jesus Christ, and the begger was healed. How many so call men of God have that confidence in Christ like these Apostle? Our men of God have confidence in their babalawo, mami water and so on. You can`t imagine most of our pastors or men of God are in secret society or secret cult.

Church is equal to business center now. What really get me nerve is that some people eyes are open but they can not see.  How many Church goer sit down themself to study the bible carefully themself to understand the meaning of the Bible. This morning i was tlaking to one of my friend from central Africa... The guy was telling me is going to see the pastor or whatever in their church and i ask him why? He`s reply was.... I want to go and see the paster about my daughter not up to 2 for Baptism. I asked him that how canyou Baptist a child under 2 years who knows nothing from left to write? I asked him to please point to verse in the Bible where Baptism is for children who can not decide for themself. Even Jesus Christ himself was 30 years old before he was Baptist. Even some of our pastors in western world encourage our girls to sell their body as prostitute. Some people are so brainwash that the can kill themself because of all these man  or men of God. Imagine a pastor acquring 4 billion naira worth of private jet. Our Church ownUniversities is for the rich men and women children not for the poor children. Even Jesus Christ himself is not rich materially, but rich spritually. How many of our so call men of God is rich spritually if not materially? The only thing the so call men of God doing now is power show, who richer among them that is all nothing more. Non of the church goer will ask themself this question..... If trully God is not partial.. why is it that the so call men of God enjoy their life to the fulliest and the church member can not boast of any thing tangible? We should know that Jehovah God is not partial.. And the Bible let us know that ..... We are all equal before Jehovah God. They milk the innocent one to enrich themself. May the Lord open those eyes who has been brainwash by the so call men of God.
  • I am confused! Why not say all these in the streets? Why not enlighten people about all these? For me, all the quotations here are too general to be specific; are there no interpreters of the gospels? For as long as anyone and everyone can interprete the way he/she likes, we shall all continue to be manipulated by these criminals called pastors. But, let's be frank; what does anyone need a pastor for when there is no standard way of interpreting the bible? the other day, people were all over the fb casting all sorts of aspertions on Oyakhilome because of his biblical views on masturbation. The whole thing is so ridiculous except that at the end of the day the man is right because nobody, including the  holier-than thou pastors, seem to knows better than him. We know christianity is growing in leaps and bounds in Africa, but people are even more confused that they have ever been; no wonder more people in civilized and enlightened societies are abandoning the faith.

nurudeen dont be confused! going by your name which translates as "light of religion just pray to God to show you the right way to go.
Put quran and bible aside for a while because you were not there when mohamaed and JESUS were here and you didnt write the books either, but according to a verse in the quran that says "ihdinat siratal ihstakima"
i.e God is the only one knows and guides man in the right way to go HE will surely lead and guide you. Simpmly tell God to show you the truth about Jesus and I guarranttee you HE will, that was how I met Him myself.
This JESUS CHRIST truly is LORD no controversy!
All the great men and women of God including the saul of tarsus that encountered HIM on his way to damascus to go and carry out a jihad against the people of God couldnt have been so stupid and daft to follow this right way
God bless you my muslim brother!

Whilst we exercise our right to freely believe and associate, it is imperative that we do so with our eyes open. We live in very trying evil times and many a man of God have resorted to cutting corners both spiritually and materially. Late MKO Abiola put it very succinctly when he said NOBODY CAN BARB YOUR HAIR WHEN YOU ARE NOT THERE.
  • One day, a man, Kola, was on the way to kill himself. However, before he could do it a man stopped him and gave him hope. The fellow told Kola he had seen worse and there's reason to commit suicide. However, within a week of Kola's planned suicide he met favorable events that changed his life completely. Having, his health, money and family all restored he decided to seek the man that stopped him from committing suicide. He found him, gave him some money and promised to do all in  his power to change the man's life as well as that of his family. This he did for decades until they both became very old and eventually the "hope giver" died.
People then asked Kola why he was going to continue assisting the man's children knowing eventually that the man did what anybody could have done. However, Kola responded and said that many things in life are just zeros behind the most important, which is life itself which is 1 (just like in 1000 or 10000000). And proceeded to tell them that the "hope-giver" was not honorable since he was a womanizer and con-man when he gave Kola hope but that he was not appreciating the man but that particular act.
Now since the love of money has blinded all of us, we have forgotten that the invisible things are more important and our acts go far beyond today. In essence, why do you beef imperfect "pastors"? If Fela sang that we're all putting money in church, how come many more are still doing it. It's not the pastor. The man is flawed. It is the grace. Remember, Bible says that he that give because he is a prophet will share in the prophets reward. If the prophet is wicked then his reward will be wicked. However, to characterize all as evil is just ridiculous. Many of us remember who have shown kindness to us without thinking of their failing. Can we all leave the love of money (both minister and parishioners) and move on

Some of the comments posted up here are from some cultists who just want to dscredit ministers of God.
I dont care what sin any fallen pastor has commited I still have my respect for them.
The other day a traditional ruler,a cultist from Imo State said people no longer come to them instead they go to church and bless their rev fathers and pastors and no longer bring yams and money to them.
Why will any sane human being be visiting a herbalist that will later turn around to hold you down for for the enmies?
And even now they have devised a way of preying on the unsuspecting people who take them for true ministers of God
Sometimes in jan 21 this year during a fuel subsidy protest in osogbo, a temple of worship raised by a witch doctor,a wolf in sheep's clothing, who had succeded in deceiving people into thinking he was a true shepherd, was razed by a mob because for more than 30 yrs the front door has never been opened, people have to come in through back door.
And even after more than 20yrs since the founder had died the congregagtion have continued to worship him, he was not a pastor but a witch doctor or cult man we have such men these days presenting themselves as prophets of God and decieving the lazy  people who cant pray but need somebody to see vision for them,God will soon expose them
Remember the bible says no wonder for satan has transformed himself into an angel of light and even so his ministers also working miracles, their portion is in the lake of fire
Is up to you people to go to church or serve satan it is not by force but stop insult men of God.
You can know a false prophet when he begins to tell you everything that has happened in your life including where you were born , your name, your age, and how many boy friends or girl friends you have slept with in the past, the kind of food you ate becoming to see him, it's fake.
An ogboni man I worked for  once told me all these things and didnt miss nothing, it is familiar spirits.
God is not a parrot, he doesnt have to reveal everything, He had said who is blind but His prophets? and who is dump but His servant?
Even when He sent prophet Samuel to go anoint Him one of the sons of Jesse to be king of Israel because He had rejected Saul the man of God fumbled seriously because He never revealed to him which one of the sons of Jesse
So stop nailing men of God if you despise them you despise the grace of God upon them, if you despise them, you have despised God and to get blessed through them? God will have to help you.
I personally I dont see why a pastor shouldnt be blessed so if that is your problem, then you truly have problem.
And for the pastors patronising witch doctors for power the same herbalists will soon disgrace you, go and watch on the you tube how "a powerful miracle working pastor" was disgraced in ghana right inside the church while the service was going on when the juju priest that gave him the power to see vision and work miracles came to collect his power from him
GOOGLE " WITCH DOCTOR RETRIEVED HIS god FROM CHURCH" on the you tube
  • One day, a dog died and the owner went to his pastor and said "Pastor, my dog is dead, could there be a service for the poor creature."The pastor replied, am afraid not. We cannot have services for an animal in the church, but there is a new church down the road, there is no telling what they believe, may be they will do something for the animal; you can go and find out. Then the man with the dead dog answered innocently I will go right away pastor. Before he left, he asked the pastor if the donation of 250,000 pounds will be acceptable to the other church as a donation to the church and its pastor for the burial service for the dog. The pastor exclaimed, "Sweet Jesus, why didn’t you tell me that the dog was a Christian? The Lord is good. Come in my brother, we can do the service here, Halelluyah.

@Harrison Declan: The peace of the Lord be unto you.  Assuming you are one of those who are
persuaded not by your own thinking but by the words of Christ, I would like you
to consider the following.  Jesus says: “Do
not be called 'Rabbi'; for ONE IS YOUR TEACHER, THE CHRIST, and you are all
brethren.” (Mt 23:8).  “And do not be
called teachers; for ONE IS YOUR TEACHER, THE CHRIST.” (Mt 23:10).

Jesus is that one true pastor foretold by
the prophets who has come to save God’s lost sheep (Mt 18:11).  He says: “I am the good pastor; and I know my
sheep, and am known by my own” (Jn 10:14).
This immediately disqualifies all other pastors everywhere.  Jesus is the only pastor that can be said to
be intrinsically good; meaning all others are bad.

Not even the pastor of the smallest church
can claim to know his congregants and they do not really know us.  We see them in the pews and they see us on
the pulpit.  Neither party knows what
burdens of sins and sorrows the other is carrying.  But the advantage of Pastor Jesus is that he
is divine and therefore knows all things (Jn 16:30).

Jesus says furthermore: “The good pastor
gives his life for the sheep” (Jn 10:11).
This is hardly the job description for today’s highfalutin pastors.  We do not give our lives for our
    church-members.  On the contrary, Ezekiel’s
timeless word about us is disapproving: “You eat the fat and clothe yourselves
with the wool; you slaughter the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock” (Eze
    34:3).

In declaring that he is the “good pastor,”
Jesus says all those who were pastors before him were impostors: “All who ever
came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them” (Jn
10:8).  What about those who come after
him?  We cannot but be thieves and
robbers as well because Jesus is the one good pastor for all sheep across the
ages.  Only Jesus can be a pastor
yesterday, today and forever (Rev 1:8).
Bad pastors die, but Jesus the good pastor will always be a pastor: “There
were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing.  But he, because he continues forever, has an
    unchangeable priesthood” (Heb 7:23-24).

Since all Christians claim to be sheep of
the good shepherd, how then can some of us also arrogate ourselves as shepherds,
thereby usurping the position now reserved exclusively for Jesus?  Surely, a man cannot be a shepherd and a
sheep simultaneously.  Since we are all
supposedly striving to inherit the kingdom of God, those of us still claiming to
be pastors must actually be lost sheep.
Thanks to Paul, we do not understand the peculiar nature of the kingdom
of God; confusing things with what obtained under the dispensation of the Old
    Testament.

Jesus says: “It is written in the prophets,
‘And they shall all be taught by God’” (Jn 6:45).  Accordingly, human pastors are now
    anachronistic.  Since God has revealed
Jesus as the good pastor to us, all other so-called pastors must vamoose.  The children of God can only be united if we
all have one and the same pastor.  In the
kingdom of God, there is only one church and only one pastor.  Jesus says: “There will be one flock and one pastor.”
    (Jn 10:16).  Therefore, every Christian
needs to make a decision as to which church he belongs to and who precisely is
    his pastor.

As for me, I only belong to the Church of
God and “the Lord is my pastor” (Ps 23:1).
That Lord is not the Lord Bishop.
That Lord is Jesus Christ.  Shalom.
  • THE BELOVED AND LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I  would like to say upfront that I am not here to defend corrupt Pastors but GENUINE AND GODLY PASTORS.It is true that there are Balams in the pulpits, but this does not mean that there are no more Pauls,Timothys,Stephens in the Church of Christ.
As it was in the days of Christ when the money changers of the scribes and chief priests turned the temple of God into supermarket  so it is today in some Churches .This did not make the Lord to stop or instruct the worshipers of God not to worship in the temple. All that the Lord did was to overturned their supermarket seats and tables and drove them out and cleansed the temple. Our great Apostle Paul also knew this when he warned Timothy to withdraw himself from the commercial Pastors in 1Timothy5-7 saying " useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth,WHO SUPPOSE THAT GODLINESS IS A MEANS OF GAIN.From such withdraw yourself. NOW GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN.For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. " .
Jesus chose twelve apostles but one of them was a devil.Does that mean all the remaining  eleven apostles are devil? NO! NO!! NO!!!. THEREFORE, IT IS WRONG,INSIDIOUS,DEMONIC, AND UNCHRISTLIKE TO SAY THAT ALL PASTORS ARE THIEVES AND ROBBERS.The writer could have said some pastors not all pastors are thieves and robbers, this is why we have to examine the motives of the author of this topic, because the topic is aimed at doing damage to the body of Christ for which Christ BLED AND DIED, by craftily imbibing into the minds of Christains that they don't need to go to Church anymore because all Pastors are thieves and robbers which is contrary to the commandments of the Lord in Hebrews 10:25 that we should not forsake the assembling of ourselves together " not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,as is manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." This is exactly what  Harold Camping, the false prophet of  Family Radio in California did by telling people to stop going to Church.
The reason why we have some thieves and robbers in the pulpits is because many so called Pastors are either not called or saved or not broken in the area of contentment. This brings to mind the word of a broken Apostle Paul in Phillipians4:11-13 saying "Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state Iam,to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound.Every where and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and suffer need.I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me."
The QUESTION we must ask now is that knowing now that there are some thieves and robbers in the pulpit;WHAT SHOULD WE DO AS CHRISTAINS WAITING FOR THE COMING OF THE LORD?. We should PRAY for God to chase out all the traders, thieves and robbers from His Vineyard not condemning the entire Pastors in the Vineyard of God. As a Christain,if you are looking for Pastor, look for one who will lay down his life for his sheeps, look for one who practices serving others, look for one who spends many hours finding all the ways he can to bring you closer to Jesus and feed your Spirit with the ingrafted word of God, look for the one that is not afraid to spend years in the wilderness like Moses who spent fourty years being broken alone and like David who spent years living in the caves in preparation as the Shepard of Israel and like Paul who left the organised Church in Jerusalem and spent many years and be taught of God Him. IT IS ONLY A  BROKEN VESSEL GOD CAN USE as is explained by Apostle Paul in Timothy2:20-21 saying " But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honour and some for dishonour. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter,he will be a vessel for honour, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work."
LET HIM THAT HAS EARS HEAR THE WORD OF LIFE.
