Prudential customer service complaints, reviews, ratings and comments

  • Passaic, NJ. While I own up to the fact that I am responsible for not reading Pru's notices informing me that my Pru Term ins matured - it would have taken JUST 1 CALL from Pru to get my attention that I was paying almost $7,000 dollars more than I should have! Problem is, we were both unemployed, taking care of developmentally challenged children, and my elder Uncle (and his finances/ins), and we also get inundated with mail from Pru since EVERYONE/THING is insured through Pru.

Sad part is, if the ins was expiring (instead of maturing), I’m sure a computer would have flagged the account and I would have received a call, since the flow of money into Pru was ending.

After 62 yrs of never missing a payment I FEEL VERY LET DOWN by Prudential (not my rock).

  • I contacted customer service a few times because I had questions about my retirement account. Each time, their representative was dismissive and would interrupt before I finished my questions.

Maybe Prudential should add more comprehensive FAQs to their website and eliminate their customer "service" reps.

  • Shawnee Ok. The local prudential realtor brought some personal friends on a showing through my home. Because she knew them, she felt she didn't have to stay with them. Unfortunately she didn't know the three teen non-family members that came with them, and they ran crazy through my home breaking and damaging things. Even writing their names on my belongings. Although the realtor admits to leaving the family unattended, they will not provide my realtor with the families name, contact information to file claim with their liability insurance and to top it all off, maintain their stand that as far as they are concerned, nothing happened.

  • On December 21, 2010, we made an offer on 909n Lotus Lane, Jacksonville, FL, which was bank owned, and made a binder deposit of $1,000, which was deposited into the Prudential account on Dec. 23. After several contacts with the seller's broker, it was determined the bank would not accept our offer. Several months went by while we waited for an official response from the bank and both agents. Sometime around July or August we found out people had moved into the house and another offer was accepted. Since then we have been trying to get our $1,000 back. Prudential keeps making unreasonable requests for signed documents. The seller's agent has not been able to get the seller to sign since he is traveling. Our buyer's agent has tried just about everything. In the meantime, almost 10 months have passed and we are still out of the $1,000 deposit while Prudential is earning whatever interest on the money. We NEED that money and do not see any positive results!!! The negotiations were through Prudential on San Jose Blvd, Jax, FL. The buyer's agent is Sandy Mannis (who appears to be as frustrated as we are). We do not understand why we cannot get our deposit back since our offer was never accepted. This is definitely not helping client service.

  • I have been waiting almost 3 months to get my 401K account rolled out of Prudential. They always have an excuse that they have not received the proper paperwork from my previous employer. It seems like I have to do their job. They don't want to let my money go. Totally disgusted with their lack of customer service.

  • I have Chronic Pancreatitis and was approved by Soc. Sec. Disability on my first application. Prudential has continuously denied and procrastinated on my claim. They don't return phone calls when they tell you they will and have no answer when they do.

  • My daughter and son in law are using a Prudential agent in Norfolk Virginia. The agent does not return calls. Looks like she is too busy with million dollar condo sales to pay any attention to a military family with "only" a 250K budget. No shortage of business in Norfolk I guess.

  • Few years ago, the escrow company directly owned by prudential in Del Mar(San Diego), CA snuck a "weekend" escrow fee of $120 during signing of escrow documents. I protested but did not get much of a response from Prudential Del Mar nor the National Prudential office.

I had to sue the escrow successfully in small claims court to get my money back.

It's one thing to have an association with a closing company, but to be owned by the same Prudential realty company who arranged the escrow then to be screwed with some nimrod fee is just ridiculous.

I do not recommend anyone dealing with ANY Prudential Real Estate Office. Imgine what they'll do with a larger issues.

  • My realtor reccommended an incompetent house inspector that reported no problems with the house. After the sale closed I found all the problems. Prudential Realty of Chattanooga did nothing to help and said it was my fault even though they reccommended the inspector. The state of Tennessee issued an order requiring the inspector to pay a fine or lose his lisence.

  • I moved from MI to TX in March of 2009. I gave them my change of address with no problem. I then remarried in May of 2009 and moved again, same town just a new address. I notified Prudential of my new address and my new last name. Of course I had to provide them with a copy of my marriage certificate, which I did. They never updated the last name or the address. All my mail has been going to the wrong address for almost 2 years now. April 7, 2011 I had to send my marriage certificate again and send a written address change request, Bullsh**! I did it...paid the $4.20 to fax the thing again. I also decided to transfer my 401k to a bank that knows my name...lol. I sent all the necessary information to them over a month ago. Today I called to check on the progress of that transfer and now they want copies of utility bills, drivers license etc...etc. I say Bullsh** again. I'm turning them in...I'm writing letters to congressmen, representatives, the whole thing. They have given me nothing but grief and they have my money. I hate Prudential.

  • Spent over two hours on the telephone yesterday (March 14, 2011) in follow up to several requests I had made for information beginning December 12, 2010. Prudential uses at least three different names to identify each of its investment options. The names on my quarterly statement didn't match the names on the Pru fact sheet. The "senior counselor" couldn't match them either. He was one of those people who read from a script and couldn't understand a simple non-scripted request, but when he finally caught me in an error, that made his day. One example, I asked about the policies and penalties related to frequent traders. Well, after a lengthy discussion and getting a third person on the line, it was discovered that the Pru term is "excessive" traders. He was just so proud to have shown that I was, at least in his peanut brain, wrong. The fact that he couldn't identify which funds on the Fund Fact sheet actually matched to my quarterly statement or explain exactly how Pru defined an excessive trader didn't register as anything important. I could go on and on, but after three months of effort, I have yet to get any useful or non-conflicting information from this company.

  • Prudential has the worst customer service. They do not provide any toll free international number for customer who is outside the US. On their website, they do not provide email or section for customer to file complaint.

The represntation that I have to deal with is bad. He didn't provide enough information to me. Bad bad bad!

  • Absolutely hopeless! Like trying to deal with an octopus. Even they can't get answers from all their various parts. The left hand definitely does not know what the right hand has done!

You call about incorrect information they have on record. They look at their incorrect information and report back to you that they have looked at what they recorded and therefore it is correct!! They themselves have the records that would prove it incorrect - but the 'Review Team' only looks at the information they have access to -- which is what is incorrect -- and never goes to the origination of the mistake!!

It's like Catch 22, or Kafka. It must be true because it's what they have written down!! Unfortunately this is life-changing stuff and they are just protecting the corporation - individual consumer be damned!!

  • Impossible to talk with someone or send email.

  • in a scheme to save money Prudential has outsourced many of the customer service centers overseas.mutual funds reps are in Ireland, some life insurance reps are somewhere south of Miami
Simple questions take forever and the follow
up is weak, plus getting to a rep you have to
    go thru voice mail hell

  • Prudential Real Estate Agents are highly unethical and dishonest. Agent in Corvallis Oregon targets homes with sales pending and then attempts to get the perspective buyer to withdraw their offer to buy a different home from them. Prudential cooperate hides from consumers, "those are independent agents but we are ethical" What a lie! They are the least ethical company on the planet. They don't want to talk to customers. They just want to say their ethical, then hide.

  • When you call there disability cusotmer servcie and speak with an agent, you get someone on the other end of the phone who, while polite, has all the life and charector of cardboard. I have spoken to quite a few and if you ask a question they don't know how to answer, you will get silence. Then, is there anything else I can help you with? No explanation. No empathy. No life. Just a blank robot that just sits there. Simple questions too. All speech is done in monotone and leaves you feeling that they defintely don't give a darn.
