Im not sure if this is an agency or the actual job, but i went for an interview with them today for a job i found on the net and having just heard from them that there is a change in hours and that first pay would be a month in hand i just had to ask '' are you a legite company?'' to which i was sternyly replied back saying ''i dont know what you are trying to imply there, we are offering you a job and you to us''. But we got back on a right footing towards the end lol Any advice Hello there

Serious MoneySaving Fan Join Date: May 2007 Posts: 980 Thanked 1,108 Times in 502 Posts	The Trovit search engine is the only kind of Trovit I can find:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trovit I can't find any registered companies with Trovit in their name, although that in itself doesn't mean too much - it could be 'trading as' name. Were you interviewed at their offices? Do you have any official paperwork (eg. letterhead with company registration number)? Was there any other reason for you to be suspicious? The ones you give in your post don't automatically make me think 'scam', but clearly something has set alarm bells ringing for you.

I've always seen a lot of jobs advertised via 'Trovit' over the years (http://jobs.trovit.co.uk/), but never realised that they're a mere search engine, rather than an agency proper. There's always a lot of naff-looking 'jobs' on Trovit (if OP means the search engine), but occasionally there seems to be a genuine position or two. Still at crossroads about whether its legite or not, interviewer did say to me to get a recruitment subsidy form (as i have been on dhole for over 6 months and for taken me on they would be paid £1000). He told me to sign off dhole immediately. I took the subsidy form with me today and he had no hesitation taking that off me. I also took my passport, but he said it was not necessary but just took a quick glance. There was also a bank detail section on the forms, and i had my details on me but he said it was not necessary to take them now (wanted them some couple of weeks later!). I asked if i could have one copy of my contract but he said that one will be posted out to me. The guy also gave me his business card. There was a number on there of their head office, i gave that many rings today and it always went dead. It might be naive to have conspiracy theories but what im thinking is does he want me to sign off quickly and wait for me to be paid a month in hand so that he could get his first installment of £500 from jobcentre and abscond with the proceeds and then leave me in the lurch? In case your wondering it was not a big job role (leaflet distributing), so that might answer some of the sceptical issues i have with it. Hello there

Personally, I'd speak to the JC before you submit that recruitment subsidy form. This £500/£1000 incentive payment is not something I know a great deal about, but there are a couple of things that make this 'position' seem a bit dodgy. Lack of working contact number, and lack of interest in your immigration status, mainly. JC+ should be able to advise you further. If you can't contact them because the line goes dead, that to me is a very bad sign. It can be really dispiriting to be on JSA and struggling to find any work. Trust me, I know (although my doing voluntary work does help). That doesn't mean you should feel forced to start work for dodgy companies that may well be breaking the law (as said already, the lack of interest in your passport sounds worrying). And why did they not want to take your bank details when you gave them to them after the form asked for them? That sounds rather fishy to me too...

If you tell us his details (NOT his name), like company name, is it Limited, Telephone and fax numbers; e-mail address (the bit AFTER the @ sign only); there's quite a lot that can be done to see if they're legit.

Hi,i saw your post about the leaflet distributing job you got with trovit and was wondering how it turned out because i also have the same job with them andthe same circumstances as you. ps.they also said they would pay me every month and didnt give me a copy of my contract. I also know of two other previous staff members who have done the same. The guy who runs it has been investigated by a newspaper as to his repeated issue of fraudulent contracts and is well known by my local job centre for his scams. On top of this, he is abusing a government scheme to profit only himself. I would stay well clear.

MoneySaving Newbie Join Date: Oct 2010 Posts: 1 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts	Trovit Group Hi, I personally met the guy, I thought he seemed lacking confidence as a director...I delivered 1000 leaflets for the guy and on returning to the office for more I was sent away due to him "holding meetings". He didnt answer calls and when I started to investigate I found the offices he used were short term rentals. The building owner declined to comment. Please anybody considering this, find out the address of this person and report him immediately.
