PEOPLE ARE STUPID, in the news

I keep wondering if all of the fraud which went on, and is going on, is all collusive or the result of massive amounts of oblivious stupidity from the general population. I used to assume that if information was easily available (like: don't put styrofoam in the microwave) everyone else knew it, too, and followed it (but, no).

A DAY CARE CENTER leaves a kid in a van...and at this point who is stupider? The center? Or the parent leaving the kid there? Of course, parents often truly have little choice, and there is the assumption, despite evidence to the contrary, that EVERYBODY KNOWS NOT TO LEAVE KIDS IN CARS, and the assumption day care centers have some kind of required safety training. You may as well leave your kid in a den of lions.

Toddler left in van dies

Authorities say a 2-year-old child has died after being left in a van outside a Clayton County day care center.
Clayton County police Lt. Tina Daniel told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the toddler was left in the van for at least two hours Monday after a field trip to a Chuck E. Cheese’s restaurant.
Daniel said the toddler, whose name was not released, was taken to Southern Regional Medical Center but did not survive.
