Weird. Cops are supposed to be peacekeeping professionals. They're supposed to act like adults and deescalate the situation. Ironically, however, in most of the cop videos I see, they're the ones who act totally out of control--even worse than the people they arrest. It's usually the sane/calm/level-headed citizens standing nearby who are the only ones trying to calm down the situation to keep things peaceful.
