Do anibolic steroids like nolvadex, Spiropent, Sastenon, and anibol tabs work the same way in dogs as they do in humans? i think i heard some one talking about using steroids to get their dog bigger i know these work on humans and are realy easy to get. but if you do use them on your dogs do you have to worry about the same thing you need to supement like estrogene blockers or testosterone boosters and what no?
It is very hard to find real anabolic steroids anymore anyhow unless you have connections and lots of money and they are for humans not dogs.
They do work on dogs, and people do give them to dogs, and it is nothing but outright cheating. If there were regular tests done, I bet you wouldn't believe the amount of dogs that would test positive.
There is only one kind of pit bull and that is the pit bull. They are a breed all by themselves. Now that being said some people classify them by nose color of which there are seven. There is nothing about the breed standard that has anythi... Read More »

I have 2 adult male staffies,a 5yr old that lives at my house and a 3yr old that lives at my my girlfriends house. The one that lives at my house i got given when he was about 18 months and after about a year, together with a good diet of fish, chicken ect and regular running sesssions along beach i put him on 5mg anabol tablets (2 a day for 10 weeks), and he responded very well to them he put on approximatly 16 pounds of solid, defined muscle. I've taken him to the vets and had heart, lung, hip and bone tests done and he's perfectly fit and heathly. (obviously i didn't mention the steroids to the vet.)There were no side affects what so ever no increased aggression and no infertility (he has since been studded out twice and had two perfect litters the first 10 pups, the second 8 pups all fit and heathly). I've had the other 3yr old male for about 9 months and with his general good diet and good amount of exercise that he receives im thinking about giving him the same steroids

I think it's a bad idea. For one thing, you can give your dog Cushing's Disease this way.
Also, any dog you regularly feed steroids, can suddenly turn on you or others and you are legally and financially responsible for all and any injuries your dog causes. He's a pitt bull, right? Bad combination!
From a vet website I'll quote:
"In dogs, panting can be a common side effect, and sometimes mood alterations can occur. These mood changes may make the dog irritable and sometimes can result in a "nice" dog suddenly snapping at its owners. Often times, tapering the dose of steroids down, will result in a decrease of the side effects. "
"Long term usage of steroids (usually over a period of months), may induce internal changes to the patients body, resulting in an over-production of the patient's cortisol (patient's own body steroid) production. This condition, known as Cushing's disease, can necessitate the need for specific treatment."

By the way - the correct weight for a well bred typical SBT is
28 - 38 lb - sounds like your dogs aren't even typical examples of the breed. Have you even read the breed standard?
