Saying 'Vagina' Should Totally Be Illegal - Michigan lawmaker proves need for new bill: Dahlia Lithwick:

I've posted this a number of times, but it seems no one is watching: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5U-YT-mRmI

Old white male conservatives still believe that they are the only class of  "privilege."
DT
They also believe they're the only ones who could possibly legislate women's health care issues.

and no one can say "you bet your ass" - that should be out as well - How dare they talk about my ass that way...

Yep. Had she said winky winky or some other GOP-friendly term, we would all have been friends (and women would be abused as they should be - GOP Bible Ch 3 v 14).

I don't think feminists are screaming loud enough. It needs to be louder so rational and educated people can develop better immunity.

okay - I call Name someone who could be considered legitimately rational and educated who believes women are inferior to men and deserve less pay for equal work. I'll wait.

hahaha you think I believe women are inferior? Assume some more and make a fool of your self like Toon

I didn't say that's what you believed.  You implied people who were rational and educated were not feminists - so I asked you to give me an example of someone,  ANYONE (not necessarily you), who did NOT believe in feminism (that women are equals to men and deserve equal pay for equal work) that could be considered rational and educated. still waiting.

So you believe feminism is only about women being equal to men and equal pay for equal work? You expect a narrow perspective and one answer. Human relations (and gender relations specifically) do not work on that simple model. There are way to many variables. However solid examples are all around you.

Ha Ha HAR - This is what we call ducking and diving, young Ivan. Go back to your ninth grade class. Yer outta yer depth here.

okay guys - lets turn this around. Hypothetical situation: There is a law being debated about requiring all men to get circumcised. It is a religious imperative for some (the Bible says it's necessary in the OT - the same place it condemns homosexuality) and many doctors agree that it has medical benefits...Now imagine a group of women legislators arguing about this and saying for the sake of public health the procedure MUST be done on all men by the time they reach the age where sexual intercourse is normal and probable - you have no choice in the matter - the government knows best what you need to do with your body. Even if your ALREADY circumcised you would probably be offended at this idea... Now a male legislator gets up and says sarcastically: "Ms. Speaker, I'm flattered that you're all so interested in my penis, but I disagree with this mandate" If all the female legislators got offended would you support THEM in censuring the guy? The shock factor was intentional AND appropriate to bring the discussion back to the real people the law they are discussing affects, who happen to have vaginas. As offended as they were about her comment - she was offended that they think they have a right to legislate her body - to her it was a personal attack and deserved a personal response.

'via Blog this'– A Michigan lawmaker last week had the audacity to utter the word "vagina" on the House floor, prompting a ban on Rep. Lisa Brown talking at all. It's time to go a step further, writes Dahlia Lithwick at Slate: Let's make it illegal for women to utter the dreaded word on the floor ever again. Lithwick has the bill mapped out: It'll "include part A(1)(a) providing that any women who seeks to use the word 'vagina' in a floor debate be required to wait 72 hours after consulting with her physician before she may say it."
Women who say "vagina" sometimes regret having done so, Lithwick notes, so "part C(7) provides that there will also be mandatory counseling with counselors who have never used the word 'vagina' in their lifetimes." She of course figures out how to work a "trans-vaginal ultrasound procedure" into the bill, too. Except in this case, those undergoing the procedure (after daring to utter the word) will have to listen to a speech about the perils of using an anatomically correct term "in an enlightened democracy." Warning: Said speech contains the word vagina. Click through for the rest ofLithwick's snarky piece, which comes ahead of tonight's performance of the Vagina Monologues on the Michigan Capitol's steps.
Let's go back to the days when a peepee and a hoohoo were our reproductive parts.  While we're at it, ban all talk of abortion, viagra, douche, tampons, pads, condoms, prostates, jock itch, PMS, Midol, Pamprin, Celebrex, hemmorhoids, circumcisions, sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy tests.  Then maybe we can make a law against having more than 3 television networks, being charged to watch television, not washing your hands after using the bathroom, women wearing dresses that are above the knee, wearing exercise clothes in public.....Get my point?
