Meanwhile, in Cleveland, Texas, scores of family members were struggling to absorb the news that 18 young men and teen boys had been accused of gang raping an 11-year-old girl.
The Philadelphia case is part of the multi-year investigations into allegations of widespread sexual abuse of children committed by Catholic priests in the USA. As the New York Times reported today, "[t]he mass suspension was the single-most sweeping in the history of the sexual-abuse scandal in the Roman Catholic Church in the United States".
