LIBERTY — A 16-year-old boy admitted on Friday his role in the gang rape of an 11-year-old Cleveland girl in 2010 and received seven years probation.
He joins three other juveniles who already have admitted guilt in the sexual assault and agreed to help prosecutors in this controversial case that has seized national attention.
In December, Isaiah Ross, 21, pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child stemming from the rape. A total of 20 men and boys had been charged in the case.
In a Liberty courtroom on Friday prosecutors and defense attorneys said the boy felt pressured into having sex with the girl. They said the boy maintained he didn't know the girl's age.
Testimony on Friday also revealed that the defendants in the gang rape were members of a local gang called STB, which stood for Slut Those Bitches. According to statements read in court, the 16-year-old boy was not a member of the gang.
