In March of 2009 I went to the dentist to inquire about getting my teeth fixed. I found I needed a bridge consisting of 6 teeth. My dentist told me I needed about $5400. worth of work. They offered me an aplication for GE Care Credit. I would be able to charge the whole amount to this card, and then make monthly payments. When I signed the application, the terms stated were for a 11% interest rate. After being apporoved, I went ahead and had the work done. When I receeived my first bill in the mail, I saw it had a 13% interest rate. I called the company and she told me the dentist office is the place who sets the interest terms. When I called that office they told me the interest rate must h...

BE VERY AFRAID!

Run, as fast as you can, in the other direction. Customer service doesn't exist. They will harrass you if you are a day late. Account was turned over to collection within a month, and I was not informed for several months. Payments were made in the meantime, and there is no record that they were credited, though we can prove they were received. Report filed with Better Business Bureau (check the website - there are literally THOUSANDS of complaints!) and also with the credit bureau. I paid $1100 for a bill that was originally $600. And that was after they took off $500 for an "immediate settlement" before going to legal action.

An excellent financial tool, if you use it VERY wisely

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5
Well, I got this Care Credit card because my dental insurance would not cover all of my considerable dental work. It was suggested by my dental office. They told me that this card offers excellent promotional plans. My dentist charged two thousand dollars on there at once, and it qualified me for an 18 month deferred interest rate. It was a credit on my account and all subsequent bills were taken out of it. At the end, I ended up with a credit, which my dentist credited back to the card. Everything went smoothly.
This card has a HUGE interest rate, currently 29.99%. That is out-of-this-world crazy high. If you do not pay your balance off at the end of the promotional period, you are ba...

Word to the Wise: Don't get involved with this crooked company.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5
Now that I know what I know and have experienced doing business with this company, I would recommend everyone to stir far away from it.  Due to the course of my work in the IT field, I routinely visit many, many doctor's offices and can attest to the fact that at least 9 out of ten doctors promote this company.  Sure, it is convenient for them because they are paid quickly, but care little or know nothing about what it is about to do to their patients.  Well, at the beginning it is great.  You are receiving your statements in the mail, paying the monthly amount on time and then out of no where .....zap.  You receive a bill with a late fee of $39.99 and a ridiculous i...

If I could rate a ZERO i would!

I got care credit to pay for extensive dental work. Boy I am sorry. They hire THE dumbest reps in the world, worse than outsourced reps. This one associate bothered me to death about some typo error they had on my account on their end, like I'm supposed to know what she can see on her screen!
Anyway, as other posters have mentioned, they sneak up on rates and will change to a default of almost 30% without any warning. I tried to pay off the high interest balance using their instructions and they just applied it to the low rate to continue to charge me the max interest possible. I wish I never met them.

Read Care Credit policies very carefully.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5
I used Care Credit to pay for a root canal. The deferred interest for 12 months attracted me to pay for the procedure with this option. I would not call their policies 'deceptive' as some other reviews have, but some of them are certainly designed to set up their customers to fail at paying off their charges in full without incurring any interest or fees. All the policies are clearly stated on the bill, which I suggest reading carefully if you choose to use Care Credit. I paid my bills on time every month, and paid off the whole balance before the deferred interest offer expired (which was actually 11 months as stated on my bill, not 12 as expected). I had no problems and Care Credit did not...

Care Credit interest rates are 29.9%

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5
I was hesitant to apply for a Care Credit card but many dentists and veterinarians offer this option because they do not want to make payment plans for their clients. They want paid upfront. Dental procedures can be very expensive and some procedures although necessary are not covered by insurance such as crowns. Animal care can be very expensive. I just had a $916 bill for extracting 9 teeth from a cat we rescued. I used care credit for an earlier veterinary procedure. The vet wanted paid and I thought that the deferred interest would be helpful. However, if you don't pay it off within the time frame you pay interest on the full amount. If you late a payment then th...

I have NEVER had a worse experience that using Care Credit

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5
Care credit just stopped sending bills. I paid more than my minimum each month and all of a sudden no bills came. I called them, they sent a bill. Then the same thing occurred and I fell behind. Of course, they contacted me then, I ok'd them taking money out of my checking account so I could catch up- on top of paying my monthly bill. Once I was caught up the bill stopped coming again. It's like they did it on purpose. I called a few times, each time verifying that the address was still the same and letting them know that I needed a bill to send in a payment. Finally, after 4 months,  I sent in a check blindly with a letter stating the situation. They never contacted me but they sure hurried and cashed my check! Now they are threatening to sue me since they haven't received payment in a while. CARE CREDIT is the WORST COMPANY I have ever dealt with. If you are considering using them, don't. I would never recommend them and I tell friends how horrible they are.

Be Very Careful

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5
This card is a good option if you don't have any other credit cards. Beware the interest rate is very high after the no interest promotional period. We are paying dearly for this mistake. My husband went to the dentist for the first time in several years. His back teeth were in bad shape. The dentist gave an estimate of $1200 after insurance. They suggested CareCredit and sent the paperwork to CareCredit and got instant approval up to $3000. We began making the monthly payments and tried very hard to pay a lot more then the minimum. We ended up having only 6 months of no interest though, not 12 months like originally told. It was a rough time for us due to other medical expenses as well. Nee...

Is there a rating lower than poor? Dishonest!! DO NOT USE THEM.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5
I was told i could put my daughters braces on here and that would lower my payment. So i thought great! The dentist office put in the code for the longest time to payoff without interest. Well all of the sudden the other day i looked and after 6 months i am now being charge back interest and i have a big interest rate. I called Credit Care they said the girl at the office must have keyed it in wrong code. So i called her she looked it up and she called credit care and they said that was the wrong promotional code. Well she told me their "PROMOTIONAL CODES" change quit often. Well i wonder why????? It is so they can get people with big bills and short promotional periods and give them very high interest rates. sounds a little fishy and dishonest. Well if i was the only person they had done this too i might not think something was up, but they did it to my mom also. People please think twice before you use this company.

Great Credit Card for Anyone Who Has Ever Had Dental Issues

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5
Care Credit is a credit card that can be used for dental purposes.  I had a tooth that was acting up and hurting really bad.  I had a root canal 4 years ago on the tooth.  I went to the dentist and he wasn't sure what was wrong so he sent me to an endodontic.  It was $75 for a consultation, and the procedure they wanted to do cost $1,000.  I'm 24 and don't have $1,000 laying around for dental work.  Most doctors in oral hygene don't do payment plans.  The receptionist suggested that I apply for a Care Credit card.  You can get up to twelve thousand dollars.  I was approved within 30 minutes.  My endodontic was able to charge the procedure to ...

Care Credit Dental Credit Card has extremely High Interest Rate.

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5
Recently my  Son needed to have a tooth replaced due to a sudden injury. The cost of repair to include a root canal, post and new tooth was well over $1,000.00. I applied for a Care Credit Card which is advertised in many Dental Offices for covering high cost procedures.
The application was easy. I applied online at the carecredit.com site. I was able to apply for an account in mine name as well as one in my husbands name. The approval was immediate. To prevent delay of service a code is given which I then passed on to the  Dental Office to confirm that the account was active. The card came in the mail at a later date.
A plus was that we were able to apply for deferred interest a...

The Worst Customer Service Ever

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5
I used the card once--for LASIK surgery.  Paid it off prior to the date; still got charged for a "late payment" even though it was set up automatic draft from my bank ($35.00).  Tried to talk to customer service but got a) someone who barely spoke English and couldn't understand what I was saying, and b) possibly the surliest English-speaking woman in history.  I closed the account that day.  I will be checking my credit statement to make sure it actually was closed "per customer request."  My advice is they pass out heavy drugs to their customer service phone reps--it will make them both more pleasant to deal with and easier to understand.

I would never recommend this to anyone

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5
This is a horrible way to cover your medical expenses. If you run into any problems it is a nightmare trying to discuss this with them. I spent nearly a year trying to get them to accept my payments. They didn't want them mailed. Their system wouldn't let them take the payments from my bank or debit card even though it should have. I couldn't log into their site for months to even create an account to pay online. Because of all this, I could have been paid off completely in less than a year. Now I have to deal with 29.99% APR.
When you call them for help, it takes more than 15 minutes to get through to someone and that someone is in the Phillipines so I had to keep dealing with someone who'...

Watch your Credit Reports! CareCredit screwed me over hard.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5
My dog got Parvo. The bills from the vet were around $2000. I got a CareCredit card with a $500 limit to help us out. Paid half of the bill when I received the first bill. Paid $10 more than the minimum for the next two months. Paid off the balance today.
Get my credit report and they are listed as a NEGATIVE with Equifax. I freak out.
Call the company and I am told "It is standard operating procedures if you have an outstanding balance." I explain I've always paid on time and MORE than required and finally ended up paying off the final balance (around $300). Again "Standard Operating Procedures for accounts with a balance."
They ruined my credit. It is the ONLY thing on my report. ONLY THING.
Sell a child or pawn a wedding ring.. NEVER use this company if you want your credit intact. I can't even order milk delivery from a dairy now because of this ONE negative on my report.
CareCredit=BAD CREDIT.
The end!
