I first got to know Sander Hicks' work through the GNN Web site, then through his publication of James Hatfield's FORTUNATE SON -- the biography of George W. Bush that details W's 1972 cocaine arrest -- and then finally through the documentary HORNS AND HALOS. The thing that has impressed me about Hicks' work is his unflinching pursuit of the truth; whether that leads to interviewing people who might not ever be chairmen of the the Chamber of Commerce or Elks Club, but who have important information.
The official story of 9/11 makes no logical sense, but was floated simply to assuage those who prefer to think of the world in terms of "those who wear white hates" and "those who wear black hats." For those of us who realize that American democracy hinges on the truth about 9/11 coming out, THE BIG WEDDING serves as an invaluable road map.
Hicks doesn't attempt to solve all mysteries surrounding 9/11, but he does a masterful job pointing the way, giving the reader names of people to follow-up on, and numerous Web sites to check out for further reading.
As Daniel Hopsicker rightly points out, "There is no media in the USA." However, the day that journalism does re-emerge in America, works like THE BIG WEDDING will be its beacon.

Intellectually dishonest and insulting to those with more backbone, November 18, 2005

Physicists are now speaking out on how World Trade Center buildings coming down the way they did cannot be explained without explosives, particularly for WTC building 7, which wasn't even hit by a plane [...]but you won't find any serious discussion of this in Sander's book. He's actually rather hostile to those working to expose physical evidence regarding 9/11. The reason for this hostility is pretty clear, as a demolition of the Twin Towers and building 7 points not to people in the US government "letting" 9/11 happen, as Mr. Hicks postulates, but rather to them making it happen.Hicks doesn't even give serious consideration to the possibility that that the "terrorists," might simply be patsies set up to appear responsible. Sander's hostility towards physical evidence showing that 9/11 was an inside job is particularly evident in his discussion of the Pentagon attack. Now there's honest disagreement within the 9/11 Truth Movement over whether or not Flight 77 really hit the Pentagon, and some researchers, such as Jim Hoffman of [...] believe it did, but these researchers are respectful and intellectually honest in their discussion of this, neither of which can be said for "The Big Wedding." For example, on page 105 he shows a picture of the Pentagon that's designed to give the impression that the hole was obviously big enough to accommodate a large aircraft. But he shows a picture from after the roof collapsed and not one of the many available from after the impact but before the roof collapse where no large hole is readily evident. And neither his text nor any captions tell the readers this. So we're left to conclude that he's either being intentionally misleading or that he failed to do even rudimentary research on a subject he was writing about.

Remember, most viewpoints which you feel are not similar to yours are typically disalowed as credible. Keep an open mind, look to other resources with the ultimate goal of connecting the dots to the truth. This is an excellent resource for getting started.11 of 14 people found the following review helpful

Heh, had to say that so He'd know who I was.Anyway; this book is not for the feint of heart. By that, I don't mean there's going to be guns and ultra-violence. By that, I mean your naivete is going to be shattered, and hiding in a corner, crying.
The amount of evidence and real-life sources that Sander has compiled for this incredibly thin book are staggering. And if you don't completely buy into the "let it happen on purpose" theory by the end of this book, at the very least, any confidence you have in the way that our government operates throughout the world will definitely be shattered.
What I took away from this book: The beautiful ugliness with which the CIA and FBI operate. One of the things Sander's book intentionally highlights is the usage of moles and spies who already have questionable histories. It's something that never occured to me, but it explains alot--why people who naysay the government wind up in jail, or easily ridiculed. It's because even though they may be tellign the truth, they were all screwed up people to begin with! On the FBI and CIA's part, it's a beatiful scheme.
What I didn't like about this book: Unfortunately it preaches to the choir. If you have a friend who still thinks Saddam had chemical weapons, don't expect them to be wearing hemp and peace chains after reading this...if they read it at all.
Overall: A damned good (and frightening) effort from someone I've come to expect good things from.

Sander Hicks' _The Big Wedding_ is filled with glimpses into the world of spooks and their fringe colloborators and is spiced with details that are probably both new and true. Yet, inserted in this book are some very few factual claims and viewpoints that makes it hard to believe the book is written in good faith. The author present sources as reliable when they say the main foreign power involved with the hijackings and demolitions on September 11. 2001 was _Pakistan_ (and not Israel), when they say the WTC demolitions were a _downgraded_ attack (from the original nuclear, and that US authorities "downgraded" it), and finally he refers to the Truth Movement's refusal to accept that a 757 hit the Pentagon as "our weakest link". This book is readworthy only as a study of the coverup, which this book very probably is a part of.17 of 27 people found the following review helpful

NORAD told the 9/11 Commission they couldn't locate errant aircraft on 9/11 because the planes turned off thier transponders! Wow, too bad the Soviets folded (Sic) back in 1991. Little did the Soviets know that all they had to do to defeat America was to ensure that the transponders on their Cruise missiles and Black-Jack bombers were turned to the OFF position! Sander Hicks posits that Bush & Co. let 9/11 happen. The big lie NORAD told the 9/11 Commission confirms Bush & Co. made 9/11 happen.0 of 1 people found the following review helpful

Packed full of new information on the 911 attacks and what could have been, like the fact that they were intended to be a nuclear attack!!! Where else do you read that, or the incredible story of Glass! Just a solid book, and one of the few that covers (in my opinion) the most credible evidence that 911 was an inside job--the CIA-ISI connection.
