Indian River women sentenced to jail for allowing dogs to kill a pig in yard - National Pet Rescue | Examiner.com: "b"

'via Blog this'A difficult to watch, graphic five-minute YouTube video posted on Facebook showed two dogs brutally attacking a farm-raised 40 pound pig. Yesterday Circuit Judge Robert Pegg of Vero Beach, Florida ordered the owners of the dogs and pig to two months in county jail, 30 months probation, and a $1,000 fine each for animal cruelty.
Janice Ramirez, 56 and her daughter Ashley, 21 posted the video on March 3, 2011. The women live on the 2300 block of 84th Court, and both allowed and encouraged the dogs to attack the pig. The women had duct taped the pig's snout so he couldn't hurt the dogs and as the women stated  "to keep the noise down." Still the horrible squeals of the defenseless pig could be heard on the video as the dogs viciously ripped the pig's ear off, attacked the pig again and again until the dogs broke the pig's leg.
The women had been charged with animal cruelty and posted $10,000 bail with Sheriff Deryl Loar stating it was one of the worst cases of animal cruelty he had ever seen.
