Bad Neighbor Banks - A Sun Sentinel Investigation - South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com:

About The Investigation

The Sun Sentinel documented more than 10,300 property code violations cited at bank-owned properties by analyzing government databases from 10 South Florida cities and unincorporated Palm Beach County since 2007. In those areas, four of every 10 bank-owned homes on average were cited in 2011.

The findings: some banks shun responsibility for abandoned homes they hold title to, and banks and their agents act in ways that leave other vacant properties in legal limbo.
