Joe V. Williams has until June 25 to demolish the house at 470 4th St.

Cleveland Daily Banner - Gutted house set to be demolished:

Isn't there a law that allows a debtor to force a person who has a lien on their property to sell the property?

"After that date, the city may proceed with demolition, then place a lien on the property for the cost of razing it and disposing of the materials.

A house gutted by fire in late 2010- "

(On Thanksgiving, with renters, who had to live with black water coming out of their faucets and sparks coming out of their electric sockets, and rats coming out of their walls. I've said this before but it bears repeating: people can't "just move." Ignoring the laws regarding  owning rental properties is a crime. It's a tax crime and it's a crime of bad faith as well as a crime against the city because code enforcement laws are ignored.)

"will be demolished by the end of June. The only question now is whether the owner will tear down the wood-frame house or leave it up to the city.

City Manager Janice Casteel reported to Cleveland City Council members earlier this week that Joe V. Williams has until June 25 to demolish the house at 470 4th St. After that date, the city may proceed with demolition, then place a lien on the property for the cost of razing it and disposing of the materials."

Probably they will have to take a number. Why not garnish the money from the rents Mr. Williams takes in via Louisville Land Company, or take it from income from his real estate business?
