Could THIS be why it is being fought?
If Pharma and other corporations run the country, and if WE stopped being so sick, drug companies would lose money:
All US citizens will be forced to have health insurance coverage considered acceptable by the US Government or else pay a fine of $95 in 2014, $325 in 2015, $695 in 2016 (capped at 2.5% of AGI). All of the fines are per person per year except for families have a cap on the total fine of $2,250 and the fine amount for children is half of the adult fine.
Why pay a fine?
Additional requirements on health insurance companies to implement uniform standards for exchanging health care information, electronic communication, and other measures to reduce insurance company administrative costs.
I don't like that.
New annual fees will be levied on all health insurance providers based on an insurance companies market share and whose total premiums exceed $25 million.
That sounds good.
The eligibility standards for Medicaid will be changed to 133% of poverty for those who are not considered elderly.
I figured that out for foodstamps, and the average WalMart worker will be eligible. Not the CEO's, of cours. Cashiers that haven't already been their a lifetime. The lifers are grandfathered in to some perks. Newbies don't get perks or much above minimum wage.
I like J. Nader from Brooklyn fighting to not repeal this Bill again. It is ridiculous. Thirty First time they are debating this, and the republicans have no alternate plan. They just don't want this one, and the reasons they are given are distorted and not backed by facts. If they are, the republicans are not providing any proof. They are just talking shit.
Maybe they save these live feeds.
