Without reason the dog attacked a 4-year old girl, of the family. Granparents and another woman tried to save her but were all attacked. Police arrived on the scene & shot the Pit Bull. The child was taken to the hospital in severe injuries, with multiple wounds on the head, torso and legs, and had to go through reconstructive surgery.
(Even if there was a reason, as some people claim with these dogs-they were hungry, or the child had a "stuffed animal"-that wouldn't be a GOOD reason.)
