Stewart Enterprises Inc., the Metairie funeral services company, says its first quarter earnings for 2013 were $15.5 million, compared to $8.8 million for the first quarter of 2012.
The company reported earnings from continuing operations of 18 cents per share and adjusted earnings of 15 cents per share, compared to 10 cents per share for reported and adjusted earnings tin he same period of last year.
"For the first quarter of 2013, we generated the highest quarterly net earnings and earnings per share in more than 10 years," President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas Kitchen said.
